What a God

By: Angie Drummonds

There are moments in life where words simply fall short. Moments where our hearts swell with gratitude, our eyes fill with tears, and all we can say is, “What a God.”
The song “What a God” by SEU Worship captures that feeling so beautifully. It reminds us that nothing in this world compares to knowing Him, walking with Him, and experiencing His love.

One of my favorite parts says:
“If the highest place I reach is at Your feet, then I’ve done it all. If the best thing I’ve seen is Your glory, then I’ve seen it all. Your love has changed my life, forever satisfied. God, You are my everything.”

What powerful words!

In a world that constantly tells us to chase more, more success, more money, more recognition,  this song points us back to what truly matters. It’s not about climbing the ladders of this world or achieving the approval of people. It’s about being at the feet of Jesus. Because when you’ve encountered His glory, you’ve already experienced the greatest treasure.

I think about Mary in Luke 10:39, who chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His words. She wasn’t rushing around trying to make everything perfect, she knew the most valuable place she could be was simply near Him. And that’s exactly what this song reminds us… if the “highest place” we ever reach is at His feet, we’ve already arrived at the greatest place of all.

God’s love changes everything. It satisfies in a way nothing else can. His love heals the broken, restores the weary, forgives the sinner, and gives purpose to the lost. When His love touches your life, you realize you don’t have to keep searching for fulfillment elsewhere,  because you’ve found it all in Him.

Today, I just want to echo the song and say, What a God!
  • A God whose glory outshines everything else.
  • A God whose love never fails.
  • A God who satisfies our deepest longings.
  • A God who is truly our everything.

If all I ever accomplish is staying close to Him… if all I ever see is His glory… if all I ever experience is His love, then I’ve lived a life worth living.
Because there is truly nothing greater.

What a God we serve.
