The other night I was watching a movie with my daughter when all of a sudden our power flipped off. She immediately started to cry and as I tried to soothe her the Lord laid this on my heart.
Why do we always panic in the darkness? Each of us have gone through dark seasons, or will go through dark seasons. Just like the immediate power flip, our lives can flip just as fast! I don’t know about you, but in some of my darker seasons I have asked, “God, where are You? Are You even near?”
I love what Psalms 23:4 says: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalms 23 is a sweet reminder that no matter what darkness we face, the Lord is our light and He will guide us through. We know this because of 1 John 1:5 which says, “God is light, and in Him is no darkness.”
I’m not sure what darkness you’re facing today, friend. With the holidays approaching it seems more and more people are facing darkness. But I pray that you will find comfort and peace, for the Lord is our light, and He alone will provide us enough light to get through this dark time! There is no situation that is hopeless to God; He cares and He knows. I am praying for you today!
