A New Season

By: Angie Drummonds

Spring is one of my favorite seasons. As the days begin to grow longer and the chill of winter fades away, things begin to bloom with fresh life. Flowers start to bloom, trees bud, and the world seems to awaken from a long slumber. Spring is almost here, and with it comes a reminder of the new seasons we experience in our spiritual walks. Just as the earth transitions from one season to the next, we too move through seasons of life, each filled with unique lessons, growth, and transformation.

The arrival of spring in the natural world offers us a beautiful parallel to the new spiritual seasons God invites us into. It’s a time for renewal, a fresh start, and an opportunity to embrace the growth that comes with change. We may not always be able to predict the seasons of life, but we can trust that, just as God created the seasons of nature, He is actively working in us, bringing about a new season of spiritual awakening and renewal.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are reminded, ”Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” Just as spring brings new life to the world around us, God offers us new life through Christ. We are no longer bound by the past, and with every new season, He invites us to step into the newness of His love and grace. This is a season to let go of old patterns, habits, and wounds that have held us back and to embrace the new season that God has already prepared for us.

Spring is often a time for cleaning out the clutter of our lives, and spiritually, it is an invitation to do the same. What needs to be pruned from your life to make room for new growth? Just as a gardener prunes away dead branches to allow the healthy ones to thrive, God often asks us to let go of things that no longer serve us spiritually. It’s a beautiful reminder that God is in the business of restoration, making all things new, and preparing us for what’s to come.

No matter where you are in life, the arrival of spring signals a new beginning—a season filled with the potential for new dreams, new opportunities, and new relationships. God wants to fill you with joy and peace, and He wants you to overflow with hope. The change of seasons, both in nature and spiritually, reminds us that with God, there is always hope for what’s ahead.

As we step into this new spring season, both physically  and spiritually, let’s do so with faith and expectancy. God is doing a new thing in our lives, and He invites us to be a part of it. Whether you’re experiencing a season of renewal, growth, rest, or hope, remember that He is with you through it all.

As we get ready for this new season, may we embrace the beauty of new beginnings, trusting that God is always working to bring about His good purposes in our lives. Let’s take the opportunity to let go of the past, embrace the growth He is bringing, rest in His presence, and overflow with hope for the future. The best is yet to come!

**“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”** – Ecclesiastes 3:1

May this new season bring you closer to the heart of God, and may it be filled with joy, peace, and abundant growth!
