Day 1
Faith Fact
Jesus is my Savior.
Faith Verse
Romans 5:8 (NLT)
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
Question of the Day:
Why did Jesus have to die for me?
Read:
Isaiah 59:2; Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:21
For an innocent person to be punished for something someone else did doesn’t seem fair. But that’s exactly what Jesus did when He died on a cross for our sins. God created people perfect and sinless, but Adam and Eve chose to disobey God. Sin entered the world, and with it came punishment and death. God can’t allow sin to go unpunished. Someone has to pay. So God sent His perfect and sinless Son to pay the price for our sin. Jesus’ death restores us to a right relationship with God. Jesus died so we can be reconciled to God.
Think about it:
Question 1. How does sin affect our relationship with God?
Answer 1. Sin separates us from God and causes Him to turn away from us. (Isaiah 59:2)
Question 2. What is the final result of sin?
Answer 2. Death (Romans 6:23)
Question 3. What can we receive as a result of Christ’s death and sacrifice?
Answer 3. The gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23)
Question 4. Why could the death of Jesus pay for the sins of all people?
Answer 4. Jesus never sinned, so He could be the perfect sacrifice, accepted by God the Father as payment for all our sin. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Question 5. What was the result of Christ’s death as an offering for our sins?
Answer 5. Our relationship with God could be restored and made right. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Talk about It:
•Why would Jesus choose to die for us?
•Why does sin separate us from God?
•How does sin affect our relationships with others?
Pray about it:
God, thank You for sending Your Son to die for me and provide a way for the forgiveness of my sins. Thank You for having a relationship with me. I love You, Lord. Amen.

Day 2
Faith Fact
Jesus is my Savior.
Faith Verse
Romans 5:8 (NLT)
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
Question of the Day:
What is sin?
Read:
Romans 5:12; 1 John 3:4, 6
One of the most important questions we need to understand is, “What is sin?” Sin is disobeying God. Adam and Eve committed the first sin. The tendency to sin has been passed down to all people ever born. As a result, sin has become part of our human nature. We are born with the natural desire to be selfish and disobedient toward God.
The good news is that God made a way for our sins to be forgiven. Jesus came, lived, died, and rose again so that we can have a right relationship with God. Now that’s exciting!
Think about it:
Question 1. When did sin first come into the world?
Answer 1. Adam, the first man, chose to disobey God. (Romans 5:12)
Question 2. What did sin bring to everyone?
Answer 2. Death (Romans 5:12)
Question 3. Who has sinned?
Answer 3. Everyone has sinned. (Romans 5:12)
Question 4. How does 1 John 3:4 describe sin?
Answer 4. Sin is breaking God’s law.
Question 5. How does sin affect us knowing God?
Answer 5. Continuing to sin prevents us from knowing and understanding God. (1 John 3:6)"
Talk about it:
•Why do many people choose to continue to live in sin?
•What can we do to know that we have sin in our life?
•How can knowing Jesus help with our sin problem?
Pray about It
God, thank You for forgiving me for my sins. I know that I should not sin, but sometimes I disobey. Help me to live a life that pleases You by loving You and loving others with everything that I have. Amen.
Jesus is my Savior.

Faith Verse
Romans 5:8 (NLT)
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
Question of the Day:
Can I earn my way to heaven by being a good person or doing good things?
Read:
John 14:6; Ephesians 2:9; James 2:10
Many religions teach that our acceptance into heaven depends only on the good things we do in this life. But the Bible teaches that everyone has sinned and will receive the punishment of death, no matter how many good things we do. Doing good things just can’t help us avoid that punishment. Sin is the natural result of our selfish nature and we can’t overcome it on our own. Jesus provides the one and only pathway to forgiveness, overcoming power, and eternal life.
Think about it:
Question 1. What are three things Jesus said abut Himself in John 14:6?
Answer 1. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”
Question 2. What is the one and only way to come to God the Father?
Answer 2. Through Jesus (John 14:6)
Question 3. If I do enough good things in this life, do they make up for the bad things I have done?
Answer 3. No. We cannot earn salvation by doing good things. (Ephesians 2:9)
Question 4. Why don’t the good things we do make up for our sin?
Answer 4. Salvation isn’t a reward for the good things we’ve done, so we can’t boast about what we’ve done.
Question 5. If a good person only does a few sins but doesn’t ask for God’s forgiveness, can they still go to heaven?
Answer 5. No. A person who commits only one sin is still a sinner, separated from God and eternal life. (James 2:10)
Talk about it:
•Have your sins ever caused you to feel like a failure?
•What should we do when we recognize our sin?
Pray about It
God, thank You that I don’t have to be perfect, because I can’t. Thank You that Jesus makes a way for me to have a relationship with You even though I’ve done wrong. I love You. Amen.

Faith Verse
Romans 5:8 (NLT)
“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
Question of the Day:
What must I do to be saved?
Read:
Acts 3:19; 16:25–31; Romans 10:9
The Bible tells us that Jesus has made a way for us to receive eternal life and have a right relationship with God. But even though the work is already done, each of us must receive the gift God offers. We receive the gift by admitting that we have sinned, believing that Jesus took our punishment, and asking for God’s forgiveness. Then we grow in that relationship with God by daily obeying what He has said in His Word, the Bible.
When we receive God’s forgiveness, Jesus becomes our Savior—we are saved from the punishment for our sin. We make Jesus our Lord by obeying Him and following His lead.
Think about it:
Question 1. What instructions did Peter give in Acts 3:19 for the people’s sins to be forgiven?
Answer 1. “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.”
Question 2. When we choose to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, can it have an impact on our families as well?
Answer 2. Yes. When the jailer came to Christ, he brought his family together to hear the gospel message. They believed and were also saved. (Acts 16:30–31)
Question 3. How did Paul and Silas answer the jailer when he asked, “What must I do to be saved?”
Answer 3. Believe in the Lord Jesus. (Acts 16:31)
Question 4. What two instructions are given in Romans 10:9 for us to be saved?
Answer 4. Tell others that Jesus is our Lord and trust that God raised Him from the dead.
Talk about it:
•What are some of the reasons people may not choose to accept Christ?
•Have you accepted Jesus’ gift of salvation?
•What must you do to be saved?
Pray about It
God, please forgive me for my sins. I believe that Jesus died and came back to life to make a way for me to receive the gift of life. I confess that Jesus is my Lord and choose to follow Him all the days of my life. Amen.
