Question of the Day:
What is the best gift you have ever received?

Read:
Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.

After sin entered the world, God promised to send a Savior. That Savior would rescue us and take the punishment for our sins. In Old Testament times, prophets told the coming of the Messiah, another title for the Savior. Prophets are people who spoke what God said. For hundreds of years, God’s people waited in expectation. Jesus fulfilled those prophecies. The disciple Matthew tells us about Jesus’ birth and His fulfilment of God’s promise.
Read Matthew 1:18–23.

Jesus came as a baby, but it was God’s plan for Jesus to grow up and then give His life for us. Jesus did this to be our Savior, to save us from our sins and all the things we do that don’t honor God. Jesus’ name even means “the Lord is our Savior.” He is our promised Savior, the greatest Gift that God could ever give to us!
Read Acts 4:11–12.

The Bible also tells us that only through Jesus can we find salvation. Jesus came as the Savior for the whole world. He is the greatest gift that God could ever give to us. It’s important for us to tell others about Jesus, so they can be saved and live with God forever.
