Family devotion:
Faith Fact
Jesus is worthy of my worship.
Faith Verse
"For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6
Question of the Day:
What are some things you think of when you think of a king?
Read:
Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.
Jesus came to earth as a baby, but He wasn’t just another baby. He is a special King, who left His throne in heaven and came to earth. Some amazing things happened after He was born. Led by a bright star, unexpected visitors arrived from far away. Wise Men from the East made a special trip to worship Jesus.
Read Matthew 2:1–20.
The Wise Men knew there was something different about Jesus. When they saw Him, they bowed down, worshipped Him, and gave Him extravagant gifts. Jesus left heaven, became like us, and took the punishment for our sins. Because of who He is and what He has done, He is worthy of our worship! He is the King of kings.
Read John 18:28–37.
One way you can live for Him and worship Jesus as King of your life is by making choices that honor Him. Remember our Faith Fact? Jesus is worthy of my worship.
