When God created the first man and woman, everything was perfect, but they were still tempted to sin. The serpent got them to doubt what God had said. Satan still tries to convince people that God’s Word is not true and to listen to him instead of God. Everyone is tempted, but it only becomes sin when we give into the temptation.

How did the serpent tempt the woman?
Answer: He tempted her to eat the fruit God had said not to eat. The serpent led her to doubt God’s instructions and lied to both the man and the woman.

The woman gave in to the temptation and sinned. The fruit looked good, so she ignored what God had said. A lot of times sin looks like fun or something that would be good for us, but disobedience to God never turns out well.

Some people think sin isn’t a big deal, but the Bible shows that sin has very serious consequences. Sin messes up the close relationship between people and God. Thankfully, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment for our sin so that we can be forgiven and one day have a home with God forever.
