Day 1
Faith Fact
We believe that... Peace comes from God.
Faith Verse
Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
This month, we are continuing to learn about the Fruit of the Spirit. How many of the Fruit of the Spirit can you name from last month? (Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control)
Let’s read Galatians 5:22-23 to see if we remembered the entire list. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
So far, we have talked about God’s love and joy. Let’s see what we remember from the first two months.
What is agape love? (Unconditional)
What does it mean that God’s love is unconditional? (He loves us no matter what!!)
Are joy and happiness the same thing? (No)
What are some differences between joy and happiness? (Joy comes from God and does not depend on what’s happening right now. Happiness can change quickly and is based on our feelings.)
Today, we are going to talk about peace. What does the word “peace” mean to you? (Give kids time to answer.) One definition of peace is being calm, quiet, and not afraid. Do you think that we can have peace when scary or hard things are happening? Let’s read John 16:33 and see what Jesus says. What did Jesus tell us that He’s giving us? (His peace.)
What are some hard things that could happen in our lives? (Give the kids a chance to share their answers.) John 16:33 tells us that even though we will go through hard times, He has overcome the world and will give us peace. Has God ever given you peace in a hard or scary time? (This would be a really good time to share a part of your testimony when God has given you peace in a hard time of your life.)
Like joy, peace doesn’t come from what’s going on around us. It is a gift from God! John 14:27 says, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” This verse tells us that Jesus gives us His peace, so we shouldn’t be worried or afraid. Is that always easy? Of course not, but as we get closer to Jesus, the Holy Spirit will produce more peace in our life
PRAY about It:
Dear God, thank You for giving us Your peace. Thank You for loving us agape. In Jesus name, AMEN.
We believe that... Peace comes from God.

Day 2
Faith Fact
We believe that... Peace comes from God.
Faith Verse
Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Let’s look at what Paul wrote about peace in Philippians 4:4-9. We are going to dig a little deeper into each of these verses to see what we can learn about God’s peace, and we are going to learn about it as we spell the word, “peace.”
P = Praise the Lord Always
(Read Phil. 4:4.) This verse tells us to always be full of joy. Why do you think be full of joy helps us to have more peace? When we focus on joyful things, we aren’t worrying about the bad things that could happen or what is going wrong. Do you think we can be joyful on bad days? Yes! Because our joy doesn’t come from what’s happening, it comes from Jesus! To have more peace, we should praise God every single day!
E = Expect God’s Presence
(Read Phil. 4:5) Verse five has a promise that God is always close to us! If we really believe that God is always close by, we can be filled with God’s peace. We know that He promises to take care of us.
A = Ask God for Help in Prayer
(Read Phil. 4:6) This verse says, “Don’t worry about _________, but pray about ________.” (anything, everything) God doesn’t want us to worry about things, but to talk to Him about everything that is going on in our lives. How do you think that talking to God about our lives would help us to have more peace? When we worry about things, we forget everything that God has already done for us. We focus on what could happen, instead of what God has already done and who He is! When we pray instead of worrying, we put our eyes back on Jesus.
Pray about It:
Dear God, thank You for giving me peace. When I am worried or afraid, I pray that I will turn to You. I pray that I will keep Your word in the forefront of my mind. Amen.
We believe that... Peace comes from God.

Faith Fact
We believe that... Peace comes from God.
Faith Verse
Galatians 5:22-23
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
C = Choose to Think About What is Good
(Read Phil. 4:8) What did Paul say that we should be thinking about? (things that are true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. ) Why do you think that we need to think about these things? What we think about matters! When we think about positive things, we are happier and feel more peace…but when we think about scary or bad things that could happen, our thoughts are filled with worry and fear. Thinking about God and how much He has done for us will help us to live with more peace!
E = Experience God’s Peace
(Read Phil. 4:7,9.) Both of these verses have promises from God. Verse 7 says, “then you will experience God’s peace,” and verse 9 says, “the peace of God will be with you.” Even when we have really bad days, we can still have God’s peace! Paul says that God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds. Let’s picture a group of American Soldiers. They are ready to protect us and keep away things that are dangerous. That’s what God’s peace does for our hearts and minds. God’s peace protects our minds from worry and protects our hearts from fear!
God fills us with His peace as we spend time praying, reading the Bible, listening to worship music, and thinking about all that He has done for us! Is there something that you are worried or scared about? Do you need God to give you more of His peace? While we are praying and worshipping God, let’s ask Him to protect our hearts and minds with His peace like soldiers that are guarding us!
PRAY about It:
Dear God, protect our hearts and minds with Your peace. Amen.
