Day 1

Faith Fact
We believe that... God heals.

Faith Verse
Ephesians 3:19
"May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."

Foundation:
God heals. Jesus has the power to heal any sickness. The beating He endured and His death on the Cross paid for our healing.

Question of the Day:
How does Jesus feel when we need healing?

LISTEN to God through His Word:

Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.

Read John 5:1–6.

Jesus cares about people when they are sick or hurting. Jesus stopped what He was doing when He saw the man who had been sick for thirty-eight years. Other people probably walked right past this man, but Jesus took the time to see him and care about his situation. Jesus often stopped to show God’s love to people in need, and we can be sure that He feels the same way when we need His help. He also wants us to show that same care for others.

Question of the day:
What can Jesus do when we need healing?

LISTEN to God through His Word:

Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.

Read John 5:6–9.

The man in the story was looking for healing by sitting beside the pool of water, but he found healing when he responded to Jesus. Often, we look for healing from a lot of different places, too. Doctors and medicine can help us feel better and heal, but we should always remember to look to Jesus for His help first. Jesus has the power to heal any sickness or injury that we face.

Answer: He had no one to help him into the water when it bubbled up.

"May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."

Question of the day:
What should we do when we need healing?

LISTEN to God through His Word
Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.

Read James 5:14–16.

When Christians get sick, they should ask the church leaders to pray for them. We can be sure that God has the power to heal the sick. But we also need to remember that not all sick people get well right away. Sometimes God’s plan is different from what we want. When someone is not healed, we should still trust God. We can trust that He has a plan for the healing of every follower of Jesus.

What should church leaders do for those who are sick?
Answer: They should pray for the sick person and anoint him or her with oil.

LEARN from God’s Word:
