Day 1

Jesus is Worthy of Incredible Praise

Theme: Exploring the meaning of Palm Sunday and why Jesus deserves our worship.
Key Scriptures: Zechariah 9:9, Luke 19:28–40, John 12:12–19
Faith Focus: Jesus fulfilled God’s promises, deserves our praise, and invites us to live for Him every day.

Day 1: Jesus Fulfilled Prophecy

Main Point: God had a plan all along—and Jesus came to fulfill it.

Read:
Zechariah 9:9 – A prophecy written 500+ years before Jesus was born.
Luke 19:28–35 – Jesus prepares to enter Jerusalem just like the prophecy said.

Discussion:
What does it mean when we say something is a prophecy?
How amazing is it that God told His people what would happen hundreds of years in advance—and then Jesus fulfilled it exactly?
Why do you think Jesus chose to ride in on a donkey’s colt, not a strong horse like a king would?

Deep Dive:
Zechariah described the coming King as righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey. That shows us Jesus didn’t come to show off His power—He came to serve and to save. The disciples obeyed Jesus even when His instructions didn’t make sense. When we obey, we’re showing faith just like they did.

Reflect:
Is there a time when obeying God didn’t make sense at first, but later you saw why it was the right thing?
What are some things God asks us to do today that show our faith?

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for coming just like the prophets said You would. Thank You for showing us what true humility looks like. Help us to obey You, even when we don’t understand everything. We trust Your plan. In Jesus name, Amen.

Optional Activity:
Make a timeline of God’s promises in the Bible leading up to Jesus’ birth and life. Highlight the prophecy from Zechariah and its fulfillment in Luke 19.

Day 2

Day 2: The People Praised God for Sending Jesus

Main Point: True praise comes from knowing who Jesus really is—not just what He does.

Read:
Luke 19:36–38 – The crowd praises God as Jesus enters the city.
John 12:12–19 – More details about Palm Sunday, including palm branches.

Discussion:
Why do you think the people were so excited to see Jesus?
What do you think they expected Jesus to do for them?
How is Jesus different from an earthly king?

Deep Dive:
The people had seen Jesus heal the sick, feed the hungry, and raise the dead. They believed He could free them from Roman rule—but they didn’t realize Jesus had come for something even greater: to free them from sin and give them eternal life with God. Their praise was real, but they didn’t fully understand who Jesus was. We have the whole story now—we can praise Him not just for what He’s done, but for who He is: Savior, Lord, King, and Friend.

Reflect:
When you think of Jesus, what are some things you’re most thankful for?
What does it look like to praise Jesus with more than just words?

Prayer:
Jesus, we praise You for all You’ve done—and even more for who You are. Help us not just sing or speak praise, but live in a way that shows the world how much we love You. In Jesus name, Amen.

Optional Activity:
Lay out jackets or towels in a hallway like the people did for Jesus. Walk the “path” as a family and take turns calling out praise (e.g., “Jesus, You are my King!” “You are powerful!” “You are loving!”). Finish by worshiping with a song like “Hosanna” or “King of My Heart.”

Day 3

Day 3: Jesus Is Worthy of Incredible Praise

Main Point: If we don’t praise Jesus, creation will! But we were made to praise Him.

 Read:
Luke 19:39–40 – Jesus says if the people were silent, the stones would cry out.

Discussion:
Why were the Pharisees upset that people were praising Jesus?
What do you think Jesus meant when He said “even the stones would cry out”?
What does it say about how important it is for us to praise?

Deep Dive:
Jesus was making a bold statement—He’s not just a good teacher or miracle worker. He’s the King of all creation, and all of creation was made to bring Him glory. We were made to praise Him with our voices, our choices, and our love. If people stayed silent, the rocks would shout—because Jesus deserves it!

Reflect:
How can we show praise to Jesus in our everyday lives?
What are some ways we can give Him praise as a family?

Prayer:
Jesus, You are so worthy. You created the world and gave Your life for us. We don’t want rocks to cry out in our place—we want to be the ones to worship You every day. Help our family bring You praise in how we live, love, and treat others. In Jesus name, Amen.

Optional Activity:
Find smooth rocks and decorate them with words or symbols of praise. Create a "Praise Rock Garden" in your yard or a “Praise Jar” on your table to remind you that you were created to praise Jesus!
