Day 1
Faith Fact
We believe that... there is one true God.
Faith Verse
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
"Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength."
Foundation:
The one true God has always existed and always will exist. He showed himself to us as the Creator of heaven and earth and the One who saves us from our sins. God has shown us that He exists in three Persons- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Question of the Day:
How many true gods are there?
LISTEN to God through His Word:
Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.
Read Deuteronomy 6:4–5.
When the Bible was written, people followed a lot of different gods. People still make a lot of different things number one in their life rather than the one true God. Some people live for money, some people live for having fun, and some people live for having lots of friends. Some people even worship other gods. But these verses tell us that there is only one true God. He deserves our love and to be number one in our life. God wants us to live our life only to please Him and to do the things He wants us to do.
LEARN from God’s Word:
The Bible says that we should love God with all our heart, our soul, and our strength. That means we can show God love with our mind, words, emotions, body, and all the things we do.
Question
How should we show our love for the Lord?
Answer: With all our heart, all our soul, and all our strength
Question
How do you show your love for God?
Answer: Answers will vary.

Question of the day:
How long has God existed?
LISTEN to God through His Word:
Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.
Read Psalm 90:1–4.
Have you ever looked at a circle? Where does it begin? Where does it end? A circle is kind of like God because He has always existed and always will. God created the entire universe, so it has a beginning and will have an end. But God the Creator does not.
Question
When was God born? When will He die?
Answer: God was never born, and He will never die.
LEARN from God’s Word:
Because God has always existed and always will exist, we can fully trust that He will always be there for us. Some people focus on money, sports, school, friends, and even phones and videos. But all those things will go away. God will never go away, and He’s the only One who can give us a life with Him that lasts forever.
Question
Why is God a better choice to focus on than anything else?
Answer: God will never go away and can give us life with Him that lasts forever.
Question:
How can you tell what someone has focused their life on?
Answer: Answers will vary.
LIVE God’s Word:

Question of the Day:
How has God revealed himself to us?
LISTEN to God through His Word
Pray and ask God to speak to you before you read today’s Scripture.
Read Matthew 3:16–17.
As Jesus, God the Son, was baptized, God the Holy Spirit came down in the form of a dove and rested on Him. Then a Voice from heaven, God the Father, proclaimed that Jesus was His Son. Even though we know there is only one true God, the Bible shows us in many places that God exists in three Persons.
Question
At Jesus’ baptism, what did God the Father and God the Holy Spirit do?
Answer: The Holy Spirit came down and landed on Jesus like a dove. God the Father spoke from heaven
LEARN from God’s Word:
It’s easy to get confused by our one God showing himself to us through three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But the verses we read today are one of the best examples of how that one God really works as three Persons. God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit each have different and important roles in the life of everyone who serves God.
Question
What three Persons exist as one God?
Answer: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit
Question
What is one important role God has in our life?
Answer: Answers will vary.
LIVE God’s Word:
Question
What are some things you’re thankful for that come from God?
