Day 1

Faith Fact
Jesus is the Light of the World.

Faith Verse
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Question of the day:
How does knowing Jesus is the Light of the World help you when you feel afraid or uncertain?

Read:
Isaiah 9:2

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)

Long ago, people were living in a time that felt really dark—like a cloudy night with no stars. But
Isaiah said something amazing: a great light was coming!

That light was Jesus. He came into a dark world to shine God’s love and truth for everyone to see.

Talk About It:
• What do you think it feels like to be in spiritual darkness?
• How is Jesus like a light in dark times?
• What does it mean that “a light has dawned”?

Prayer Activity:
Go into a dark room and then turn on a flashlight. Thank Jesus for being the light who helps us see
what’s true, even when life feels confusing or scary.

Prayer:
Thank you God for sending Your son to be the Light of the World. Even when it feels dark or heavy, we can trust that Your light will shine brightly through! In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 2

Faith Fact
Jesus is the Light of the World.

Faith Verse
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Question of the day:
What are some ways we can be "lights" in our neighborhood/ community to show others Jesus' love?

Read:
John 8:12

"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'" John 8:12

Jesus wasn't just saying He had light-- He said He is the light! Following Jesus is like walking on a path lit by sunshine instead of stumbling in the dark. When we follow Him, we see where we're going, and we're never alone.

Talk About It:
• What do you think it means to follow Jesus?
• Why do we need His light to guide us?
• What do you think “the light of life” means?

Prayer Activity:
Take a walk together outside at sunset or dusk. As the light fades, talk about how much easier it is
to walk when the path is lit—and then thank Jesus for being your guide.

Prayer:
Thank you Jesus for being the sunshine on our path. Thank You for never leaving or forsaking us, we trust that Your light will guide us every day of our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 3

Faith Fact
Jesus is the Light of the World.

Faith Verse
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Question of the day:
What part of Salome and John's story did you find most interesting?

Read:
2 Corinthians 4:6

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the
light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6)

God turned on the light in creation—and He also turns on the light in our hearts when we meet
Jesus! That light helps us know God and see how amazing He really is.

Talk About It:
• What happens when God’s light shines in your heart?
• How does Jesus help us understand what God is like?
• What does it mean to show God’s glory?

Prayer Activity:
Draw a heart and write “Jesus’ Light” in the middle. Around the heart, write words that describe how
knowing Jesus helps you see God more clearly.

Prayer:
God, thank You for turning on the light in our hearts through Jesus. Help us to see You clearly and understand how amazing You are. Let Your light guide our thoughts, our words, and our actions every day. Amen.

Day 4

Faith Fact
Jesus is the Light of the World.

Faith Verse
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Question of the day:
What would YOU have asked Jesus if you were there when He asked for the men to come follow Him?

Read:
1 John 1:5

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no
darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5)

God is completely good, completely true, and completely pure. There’s not a speck of darkness in
Him. That’s why His light can chase away any kind of fear, sadness, or lie.

Talk About It:
• What does it mean that God has no darkness at all?
• How can we walk in His light?
• How does knowing this make you feel safe?

Prayer Activity:
Light a candle (with adult supervision). Watch the flame and talk about how light changes a dark
room. Then pray, asking God to help you stay close to His light and goodness.

Prayer:
God, You are perfect light—good, true, and pure. Thank You that Your light drives out all fear, sadness, and lies. Fill our hearts with Your brightness so we can live in Your truth and peace every day. Amen.

Day 5

Faith Fact
Jesus is the Light of the World.

Faith Verse
"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12

Question of the day:
Who are you going to go and be a "light" in the life of today?  Who can you share Jesus with?

Read:
Matthew 5:14-15

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a
lamp and put it under a bowl.” (Matthew 5:14–15)

Jesus not only is the light—He says we are lights too! When we follow Him, His light shines through
us to others. That means being kind, truthful, joyful, and brave can help others see God.

Talk About It:
• What are some ways we can “shine” God’s light?
• Why would someone want to hide their light?
• Who in your life needs to see Jesus’ light through you?

Prayer Activity:
Each family member chooses one way they will shine Jesus’ light this week (a kind action, a word
of encouragement, helping someone in need). Pray for God to help you follow through and light up
the world around you.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for being the Light of the world. Help us to shine Your light everywhere we go—by being kind, honest, joyful, and brave. Let others see Your love through us each day. Amen.
