Elijah was one of God’s prophets, but even though he had seen God’s power before, he got scared when Queen Jezebel wanted to hurt him. Elijah ran far away and felt completely alone. Sometimes, even people who love God can feel afraid or sad. But God never stops caring for us—even when we’re hiding or hurting.

Prayer:
Dear God, sometimes I feel scared or alone, just like Elijah. Help me remember that You are always with me. Please give me peace and courage when I’m afraid. Amen.

God didn’t leave Elijah alone in his sadness. He sent an angel to bring him food and water! God cared about Elijah’s body and heart. Sometimes, when we’re sad or scared, God sends help through people—our family, friends, or even a kind word—to remind us we’re not alone.

Prayer:
God, thank You for taking care of Elijah. Thank You for taking care of me too! Please help me notice when someone else needs help and show them Your love. Amen.

Elijah looked for God in big, loud things like wind, earthquakes, and fire—but God came in a quiet whisper. Sometimes God speaks to our hearts gently. We can hear Him when we slow down, listen, and spend time with Him in prayer or reading His Word.

Prayer:
God, sometimes I look for You in big, loud ways, but You speak quietly to my heart. Help me to slow down, be still, and listen to You. Amen.

David wrote that there’s nowhere we can go to hide from God’s presence. God is with us everywhere! Just like He was with Elijah in the wilderness, God is with you at home, at school, in the car, and even when you’re afraid at night. You are never alone.

God, thank You for being with me wherever I go. When I’m scared or lonely, help me remember that You are right beside me. Amen.

Fear tells us we’re alone, but God’s love tells us we’re safe. God calmed Elijah’s fears, and He can calm ours too. When we trust God, we can rest in His love, knowing that He is strong enough to handle anything that worries us.
