Day 1

Faith Fact
Jesus gives me purpose.

Faith Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

Read:
“But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward
the goal …” (Philippians 3:13b-14a)

Jesus gave His disciples a new purpose—to share His love with the world. Paul reminds us not to get
stuck in the past but to keep moving forward, focused on the mission Jesus gives us.

Talk About It:
• What do you think Paul meant by “press on toward the goal”?
• What are some things you think God wants you to do with your life?
• How can you “press on” when things are hard?

Prayer Activity:
Using paper and markers, create a “goal arrow” and write one way you want to grow in following
Jesus. Pray together, asking for His help to keep pressing forward.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for showing us how to share Your Gospel with the whole world. Thank You for teaching us not to get stuck in the past, but to continue looking forward to what's to come. Amen.

Day 2

Faith Fact
Jesus gives me purpose.

Faith Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

Read:
“Whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things
than these …” (John 14:12b)

Jesus told His disciples that they would do even greater things than He had done—not because
they were better, but because His Spirit would be with them. That same Spirit gives us purpose and
power to serve others and share His love.

Talk About It:
• What do you think “greater things” might look like today?
• What gifts or passions do you think God has given you?
• How can you use them to serve Jesus?

Prayer Activity:
Go around the circle and speak encouragement over each family member—naming something
special God has put in them to do for Him. Pray over each person as they discover their purpose.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to help guide us, lead us, and teach us. Amen.

Day 3

Faith Fact
Jesus gives me purpose.

Faith Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

Read:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called
according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Even when life is confusing, God is still working. Jesus gave His disciples a mission, and sometimes
it wasn’t easy—but God used every moment for good. He still does that for us!

Talk About It:
• Can you think of a tough moment where God brought something good out of it?
• What does it mean to be “called according to His purpose”?
• How can you trust God’s plan, even when it’s hard?

Prayer Activity:
On a puzzle piece or small paper square, write one challenge your family is facing. Place it with other
“pieces” and talk about how God sees the full picture. Pray for trust as He works things for good.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, even when life is throwing us curve balls, thank You for being the calm. Thank You for taking care of our every need, the big and the small.  Amen.

Day 4

Faith Fact
Jesus gives me purpose.

Faith Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

Read:
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord … ‘plans to give you hope and a future.’”
(Jeremiah 29:11)

Jesus had big plans for each of His disciples—and He has big plans for you too. You’re not here by
accident. God created you with purpose, hope, and a future that matters.

Talk About It:
• What kind of future do you hope for?
• How do you think God is already using you for His plan?
• How can we trust His timing and path?

Prayer Activity:
Each person draws a timeline of their life—with one dream for the future at the end. Thank Jesus that
He’s in every part of your story and ask Him to lead you into the future He’s planned.

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for knowing exactly who I was before I was ever born. You created me for a purpose, and a plan, thank You Jesus! Amen.

Day 5

Faith Fact
Jesus gives me purpose.

Faith Verse
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5

Read:
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood … that you may declare the praises of him who
called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

Jesus didn’t just call His disciples to believe in Him—He called them to live for Him. We are chosen to
shine His light, love others, and point people to the truth. That’s our purpose!

Talk About It:
• What does it mean to be “chosen” by God?
• How can you declare His praises in everyday life?
• What is one way you can shine Jesus’ light this week?

Prayer Activity:
Light a candle or flashlight in a dark room. As it shines, take turns saying one way your family can
bring Jesus’ light into your school, community, or neighborhood. Pray together and commit to live
on purpose for Him.

Prayer:
Jesus, Thank You for calling us to live for YOU! You chose us, and we choose YOU! Amen.
