Day 1

Read: Genesis 4:2-5

Power Verse: Hebrews 11:1

Talk About It:
Did you know that Cain and Abel were the first brothers in the Bible? Cain grew crops, and Abel took care of sheep. One day, both brothers brought an offering to God.

Cain brought some of the crops he had grown, but Abel brought the firstborn of his flock. Abel wanted to give God his best because he trusted God and knew that God deserved to be honored.

God cares about what we give Him, but He also cares about the heart behind our gifts. He doesn't just want us to go through the motions. He wants us to love Him and worship Him with sincere hearts!

We can give God our best every day. We can make time to pray, read the Bible, sing worship songs, obey Him, and show His love to others. Giving God our best doesn't mean we have to be perfect. It means we choose to put Him first and give Him our whole hearts.

Remember: God deserves our best because He is worthy of our love and worship!

  1. What did Cain and Abel bring to God?
  2. Why is it important to give God our best?
  3. What is one way your family can put God first this week?

Family Challenge:

Each family member should choose one way to give God their best tomorrow. Maybe it's praying before school, reading a Bible story, helping without complaining, or worshiping God together.

Pray Together:

Dear God, thank You for loving us so much. Help us put You first and give You our best. We want our worship to come from hearts that truly love You. Help us remember how good You are and honor You in everything we do. In Jesus' name, amen.

Day 2

Read: Genesis 4:5-7 and 1 Samuel 16:7

Talk About It:

When God accepted Abel's offering but did not accept Cain's, Cain became very angry and upset. God spoke to Cain and warned him about the sin that was trying to take control of him. God gave Cain an opportunity to do what was right.

Instead of listening to God, Cain allowed his anger to grow. Sadly, his anger led him to do something terrible: he killed his brother Abel.

This story teaches us something important. God doesn't just look at what we do on the outside. He looks at our hearts, too! First Samuel 16:7 reminds us that people look at outward appearances, but the Lord looks at the heart. We might look like we're being kind while secretly feeling jealous. We might sing worship songs without thinking about the words. But God knows what is happening inside us.

When we feel angry, jealous, or disappointed, we have a choice. We can let those feelings lead us to sin, or we can talk to God and ask Him to help us make the right choice. God wants us to have hearts that love Him and others. When we make a mistake, we can confess it to God and ask Him to help us change.

Remember: God cares about what is happening in our hearts!

  1. How did Cain react when God did not accept his offering?
  2. What does God see when He looks at our hearts?
  3. What can you do when you feel angry or jealous?

Family Challenge:
Practice stopping and praying when you feel upset. Everyone can use these three steps:
- Stop: Take a deep breath before reacting.
- Pray: Ask God to help you make the right choice.
- Choose: Respond with kindness instead of anger.

Pray Together:

Dear God, thank You for knowing our hearts and loving us. Please help us when we feel angry, jealous, or disappointed. Teach us to make good choices and treat others with love. Help us have hearts that please You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Day 3

Read: Hebrews 11:4 and John 4:23

Talk About It:

Have you ever given someone a gift? Maybe you picked out something special for a friend or made a card for someone you love. When we love someone, we want to show them how much they mean to us!
Worship is one way we show God how much we love Him.

Hebrews 11:4 tells us that Abel offered his sacrifice to God by faith. Abel trusted God, and his offering showed that his faith was real.

Jesus teaches us in John 4:23 that the Father is looking for true worshipers who worship Him in spirit and in truth. That means our worship should be honest and come from our hearts. We aren't just singing words or raising our hands because everyone else is doing it. We worship because we truly love God.
Worship isn't only something we do at church. We can worship God when we thank Him for our food, pray with our family, obey our parents, help someone who is hurting, and tell others about His goodness.
Think about all the wonderful things God has done for you. He loves you, cares for you, hears your prayers, and sent Jesus to save us. When we remember His goodness, we have so many reasons to thank Him!
Real faith leads to real worship. When we trust God and remember who He is, we can worship Him with our whole hearts every day.

Remember: Worship isn't just about what we do. It's about loving God with our whole hearts!

  1. What does it mean to worship God with your whole heart?
  2. Can you worship God outside of church? How?
  3. What are three things your family is thankful to God for?

Family Challenge:

Have a family worship night! Let everyone choose a favorite worship song, take turns thanking God for something He has done, and pray together. Encourage each person to think about the words they sing and worship God sincerely.

Pray Together:
Dear Jesus, thank You for being so good to our family. Thank You for loving us and helping us every day. We want to worship You with honest, thankful hearts. Help us trust You, put You first, and show our love for You in everything we do. We love You, Jesus! In Your name, amen.
